Metal Gear Online Expansion Dated

Metal Gear Online's first expansion pack - Gene - has been dated during Konami's E3 address yesterday. And that release date is...yesterday, July 17!

The expansion will introduce a new gameplay mode (survival), three new maps, two new selectable characters (including Meryl) and a "reward shop", where you can spend the points you earn in survival mode on new gear for your character.

Konami managed to screw up the release, not sure what happened after that. But if its been released you'll either find it in the PSN store, or ingame, not sure as i don't have the game.

I heard it will be free. MGO is quite a respectable online game, more so than I expected (considering its 'tacked' onto MGS4). Looking forward to Gene.

When I first read about this I got the impression it was free, however, since then I am sure I've read that it is for chargeable download. Something like £6.99 if I remember correctly, although I could be wrong, it's happened many time in the past.

The reason it's delayed is probably to do with all the problems they've had with other regions releases. I think people accounts were charged and they never received items, amongst other things.

It will be for sale through the Konami/MGS shop (through the account section - ingame).

Everyone who downloaded the patch when Gene was released technically downloaded the expansion pack. However, once you purchase it, your Konami ID is unlocked and you can access the features.

Think it costs £6-7
