Edging ever closer to its November 7th release date, we've already gotten a ton of information on Xbox 360's biggest title of 2008, Gears of War 2. Earlier this week, the [possible] final box art for the game's Standard Edition was discovered, and now coming out of E3, here's the [possible] Collector's Edition and its contents.
Remember back when the original game came out? For $69.99 you got a thick, metal case, a behind-the-scenes DVD, hardcover hardbook and the game. Epic and Microsoft seem to be bumping up the goods that will come with the new high end version of the game, as the $69.99 price tag looks to net you not only the game, but a new "Steelbook" case (think DMC4's LE), another 48-page artbook, a portrait of Dom and "some" female character and a bonus DVD. Oh...and an exclusive weapon for use in the online multiplayer. Bwah?
Ok, don't freak out on me, Epic isn't pulling an EA here. It's simply a gold-plated Lancer. See? Nothing special. No better accuracy, no higher fire rate, just a different color. All that for seventy bones? Sold.
