    Exclamation Nintendo DSi

    Hey,

I dunno if anyone's heard but Nintendo are releasing a refresh of the DS called the DSi. Its a bit bigger, thinner and has got a 3 megapixel camera embedded into it.

A bit more info on it here

Sounds good but i've also read that both screens will be touch capable. I'm not sure how many game developers will make use of both screens as they'd have to write multiple control schemes.... Can't expect everyone to upgrade!

    Would you consider upgrading?

    Re: Nintendo DSi

I dont think Nintendo have improved the ds enough to justify upgrading a lite to the dsi. Camera isnt that good and no gba slot

I dont think I would buy this over the the ds lite.....nothing really to gain from a poor camera, bigger, thinner and no gba slot??

I still don't understand why you would want a pretty crappy camera like that, and no gba slot, the DS lite is good as it is

    Re: Nintendo DSi

Have to probably wait a while for DSi specific games to take advantage of the improved specifications of the DSi. The main ARM9 CPU has been upgraded from 66MHz to 133MHz, and 16MB of memory compared to the DS/DS Lite 4MB.

    Re: Nintendo DSi

I noticed no one has mentioned the ability to download DSi-Ware games from the internet! There aren't any decent ones available yet but apparently they are coming.

The reason I bought a DSi was because the DS Lite wouldn't work with WPA wireless security, the DSi does. I'm just waiting for some DSi specific games now.

The actual DSi isn't much thinner than the DS Lite but its slightly wider, the screens are a bit bigger but not lot and the audio is better. The only other difference is the SD card slot on the side.

Oh and there's two crappy cameras not one!

    Re: Nintendo DSi

Well I purchased one, mainly as I got it cheap off eBay and it was the same price as a DS Lite new. Having not owned a DS Lite I can't really comment too much, comparison wise.

Don't own any GBA games so the lack of GBA slot isn't a problem for me. Yes the cameras are a bit of a joke but the unit itself is very nice, larger screens, feels better put together than the DS Lite and the menu is nicer. Quite impressed overall, just got to get a few games for it.

How much is my Nintendo candy jar worth? Nintendo Super Mario Bros 2 candy jar with suction glass top, has pictures on it. It's about 7" tall and in mint, never opened condition.
