Weren't they doing some kind of integration with the eu.playstation.com accounts? I am sure you can set it up there.

I really don't see the point in this. Wander round, give sony money for new shoes and watch people dancing aimlessly in the common areas. Hopefully they will do something useful with this but at the moment there is little to recommend it.

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

I've had the beta for a week now and I was expecting a big content switch on. So what I thought I had done is preload Home so it's good to go.

So I load it up this morning and what have they done, switch on some crappy bland pay for items. Surely when something is new you ply everyone with free and interesting content... then start adding premium content.

Right now its a virtual world to buy stuff from Sony or watch videos that you can see in real Full Screen on Hexus and the like.

The best thing about it is the advanced editing of your characters body, far better than any other MMO I have used.

Apart from that I have to echo the sentiments here: EPIC FAIL

I kinda always liked Sony, I bought into MD, NETMD and HI-MD and the like. But this makes me embarrassed to be a PS3 owner.

Looks like Sony wanted to build iTunes and built SonicStage again! SS isn't that bad now, but frankly by the 4th/5th version no one cares.

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

Problem with it is, its been coming for SO long now people aren't really interested. I was expecting more content, but guess what, nope still the same stuff I nabbed for free. If you are not into second life or anything, then this won't really appeal. If they started adding more games and stuff then it will become appealing to use to pass the time than playing a game, or waiting for something to download.

I too was expecting more content. I did zoom over to watch Nick and his crazy escapades which was good. The apartments are nicely rendered and the graphics are quite beautiful. Sony should have just kept this quiet. It will be a novelty, there will be loads of people using it to try, some will leave, some will come in now and then, some will live in it.

Anyways, I can't imagine anyone staying on it when Uncharted 2 comes out ...

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

I guess its like anything new, it'll grow with time. There's a lot of stuff we've discussed with Sony that will make it more of a launch-pad for everything PS3... game-focussed meeting places before you all hop into an MP game, broadcast areas for shout-cast style presentations... lots of stuff really.

Day 2: Still epic fail. I've agreed to that user agreement like 10 times now, still never seen anything more flashy than the logo

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

I spent the best part of an hour trying to get on earlier, finally succeeded. Its without a doubt he most pointless feature to grace the PS3 yet. If you want advertising and micro transactions rammed down your throat then its great. Having to sit through 4 loading screens to get from my apartment to the theater is RUBBISH what a complete waste of time.

Fine here. Still the same sausage fest with all the female characters having 10 blokes following them around like the pied piper...

Can't believe they have the cheek to charge you for anything other than basics as well for your home. I mean - fair enough charge for stuff, but at least have some content in place first before you introduce the charging!

On the upside - pool ain't bad.

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

Worked first time for me this morning. Logo was instantly present on the XMB, installed the software and then logged in. No problems.

First impressions- Its not that bad, it has potential but at the moment its a bit boring. Pool is quite fun though and bowling is decent, both really easy once you get the hang of them. Graphics are nice as well.

    Re: PlayStation Home: discussion thread

I managed to get on it the other day, but found it a bit difficult to get used to.

It seems like a good idea but without a goal as such I was wandering around wondering what to do. It's almost like a game, only, not. It's a unique take on the normal friends list, though, and it was of course way cool to walk into a theatre and see HEXUS logos.

I'll be back on it as soon as I can kit my character out in my HEXUS t-shirt.

I got on again on Sunday evening. I agree content is lacking. Went and watched the Hexus videos and that was about it.
