Help! Xbox 360 problem!

Okay, I have a really big problem. I have searched on google for over an hour trying to find a solution but I can't find not even a HINT.. Here's the problem:

I purchased the xbox 360 with the 60G hard drive a few days ago.. Upon setting it up, I realized there is some kind of a metal material blocking where my hd av cable is supposed to plug into in the back of the xbox 360. WHY THE HECK IS SOMETHING BLOCKING IT? I haven't even used it yet because of it.. I asked a few of my friends why that is, and they have no idea. No one else has a blocked plug in for the av hd cable. Am I supposed to open up the xbox 360 itself and take it off? Any ideas guys?! Thank you.

Do not open it! take it back to the shop and tell them, if not, send it back to microsoft

I don't think your model of 360 has HDMI.

Take a look at the feature box at the top of THIS PAGE. It looks as though you'll need an Elite model.

I take it by HD you mean HDMI?

AFAIK all latest versions from Arcade upwards come with HDMI. If it doesn't then there wouldn't be an HDMI port at all. However, from what you've said you either have a 360 where the banking plate hasn't been punched out correctly or really doesn't have an HDMI port... Can you push the metal flap out of the way?

?? What is that top port? The 'normal' HDMI port is the bottom one. Is the top one not where the bog standard non HD cables go?

The Larger A/V cables can also output HD.

I know that. However, I didn't know they were still included on 360's with HDMI ports. I was just surprised to see it and assumed from the OPs post that he was trying to fit a HDMI cable rather than the bog standard AV outputs.

YES Samcross, that picture you posted up is the exact way mine looks. The top part of the av plug in... It looks like a rectangle with the ends slanted and curve... yes, there's a freakin metal piece covering that WHOLE thing.... however, on the bottom part, that looks more squarish... it's NOT blocked... but my xbox system didnt come with an additional plug in for the bottom part... But i've tried to take off the metal part, but i'm thinkin i have to open it up to take it off.... Any more ideas guys?

If you can give me an hour, I got a 360 premium for christmas with the 60gb drive so I can have a look at mine if you wish and see if that is blocked off also I ain't ran mine yet either as this is the first night I've had home so doing a bit of cleaning before I hook it up. Will check mine for you and report back
