Gears of War (the 1st one)

I got Gears of War 2 free when I purchsed my 360 back in the summer, played it through and quite enjoyed it.
I realise that Gears 1 is a fairly old game now, but could anyone who played it suggest whether its worth a play through, as posts elsewhere seemed to suggest that the two games were very similar.

Oh yes

GOW is still an excellent game and very much worth a play through. You could complete it in a few days if you have one of those lovefilm style deals to rent it with. I played it through a few times myself and there are some great levels with lots of replay value.

Definitely! Tbh, i think the GoW series is overlooked as a single player experience.

Cheers guys, It's pretty cheap to buy now so I'll pick it up some time, its not normally the type of thing I would go for, but found it excellent - especially the graphics on some of the levels.

Personally I never really got into GoW1 but I really enjoyed GoW2, really kept me hooked. I think I played that solidly for a few days until I actually completed it heh. But especially considering it's price these days and the fact that it's still a good game, you should definitely enjoy it.

GoW1 is my favourite of the two, couldn't stop playing it for months.
As for #2, storyline was enjoyable but I could never get into a multiplayer game due to all the bugs and such when it was first released so gave up trying and haven't touched it since.
