    Thoughts on FirstPlay

Anyone fancy this FirstPlay subscription that PS3 is getting soon? From the makers of the "offisheel" PS3 mag seemingly.
I can't see me buying it TBH but others may like it.

    Not really enthuised.

People like Area 5 with Co-op tend to be more impartial and Gamersyde provide very good videos, both of which I download direct via the PS3 browser.

Going by the interest in this thread I think a lot of people are of the same mind as you LOL

Pity really as I do feel that the PS3 has to get that side of things properly organised if it wants to compete with "Xbox Live".
I am very new to the Xbox 360, only got one less than a month ago compared to getting my first PS3 just after launch, but I am very impressed with "Live"

    Re: Thoughts on FirstPlay

Its the same with Home, its ok for a wander now and again and grab whatever is new (must admit the GAME spacedome is pretty cool) but I dont and wont pay for any of the stuff available for it.

As for Firstplay, interesting concept, basically an ezine with vids etc. I think it should mainly be free, possibly paid sub if they have some major exclusives and competitions and to get access to them.

Mind you as a PS3 owner as well as 360, at least online play is free on PS3 and everything costs the same regardless unlike live where the paid for subs get certain things cheaper

    Re: Thoughts on FirstPlay

I cannot remember the last time I was on "Home" I think it was when the Infamous area arrived. I will have to check out the Spacedome thing you mention soon.

I watched a trailer for First play and it mentioned access to beta games for subscribers but on the official PS3 site they have posted a Q&A/FAQ sheet and it states there will be no access to betas at this time.
So I don't know if that means it will change in the future or it was never intended to happen but they just thought they would pad the goodies a bit in the video as that would definitely raise the subscription numbers.

Even that would not entice me though, I know a lot of gamers want to get in to beta games but not me. I have done a few, MGS4 MAG BBC2
but I have come to the conclusion that I would prefer to just get the finished article so it is all new to me when I go to play it.
