With GT5 being pretty much designed to be used with a wheel, what's the one to go for? Is it worth spending the extra to get one of the flashy ones?
I did try mentioning this on the GT5 thread, but I think it got swamped...

No such thing as a cheap wheel i'm afraid. Not if you want Force feedback, and one that's terrible.
Think your options are.

Pretty sure that's PS3 compatible. You'll have to double check though. Might even be in teh options screen.

Wouldn't get the G27 unless you play PC racing games alot aswell.
Theres' also fanatec wheels of a varying price tag, they're for the most part iirc PS3 compatible and are very popular wheels. But they don't have any one selling thier wheels over here unless it's changed recently. Hope that helps

i have the logitech g27, and i can honestly say it is incredibly good. the steering really does give you so much feedback and if paired with a good game, the results are unbelievable.
May try swapping it with the one ford gave me in my old KA.

£240, for a wheel? Really? Was thinking £100 tops, so the gt one looks like the one... Letter to Santa claus coming up...
Are there any wheels that are good on both a PS3 and a Wii (if such a thing exists)?
My six year old has asked for a Wii driving game and wheel but the only one I could see was just a bit of plastic to plug the standard controller into.
Does anyone have one of the Thrustmaster wheels? How do they compare with the Logitechs?
Wouldn't have thought that would be worth him waiting for. Looks like that wheel is gonna be competing with G27.
He's already said he want to spend about £100
Info on the new Thrusmaster wheel has got initial price prediction in Japan at $500, G27 is $450. It's gonna be pricy.
A mate of mine had the F430 wheel from thrusmaster, it has its' limitations, but is a very good wheel.
It's only got 270 degrees of movement. Which is ok if thats' all you want.
Review here if you can put up with the American accents.

Don't bother - just get an ironing board.
Honest - works a treat. Nice and wide for those with G25/7 seperate shifters, it's height (locking) adjustable and all that width gives you great stability. OK - it looks daft, but no more daft than sitting in a bloody bucket seat in the front room!
Logitech did a Wii wheel a couple of years back, has force feedback and is wireless (except for the power cable, they seem to forget about that) and got pretty good reviews at the time. Not sure if you can still get it in the uk or not, nor am I sure of the compatibility, but it is the only option
