Why is it so hard to get hold of the official 360 batterys?

I need a couple of new rechargeable batteries for the wireless controllers. I have the MS quick charge station and as far as I can tell it will only charge the MS batteries.

Trouble is, I can't find any for sale. There are a few used ones about. Have they stopped making these? If so, why? Seems stupid.

I've found a few places selling the recharge station and you get a battery with that, expensive way of buying a couple of batteries though, as I would just be chucking the station away.

Anyone know where to get hold the batteries? Or why they have stopped selling them?

Don't really want to spend the best part of £100 on a battery.

    Thanks for googling it though

Re: Why is it so hard to get hold of the official 360 batterys?

Considering even the second hand batteries are going for £10+ on Amazon, surely it makes sense to just grab another quick charge station for £16?

I know you want to find out where to buy the batteries on their own, but if a second-hand one is worth over £10 then I suspect you won't find them anywhere cheap.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm happy to pay £16 for a battery, would cost a lot more than that using regular ones. Just seems a waste buying 2 more stations, just to throw them away.

I picked up one of the white MS batteries last week from the PC World near where I work for £2.50 (it was the last one there though)

    Nice find

I managed to get a new one off ebay for £12 and I got another in game with the MS play and charge kit for £15.

Re: Why is it so hard to get hold of the official 360 batterys?

They did have a few bargains over there (Beatles Rock Band for £5, would have been tempting if I actually liked the Beatles music - which I don't), and I think the charge and play kit was a tenner.

Too late for me to pop over to check tonight (it's about a 15 minute walk from work, and I need to catch the 10 past bus home).

Re: Why is it so hard to get hold of the official 360 batterys?

I was trying to get some batteries myself and was actually recommended to just buy some normal AA rechargeable batteries and a battery charger by the shop assistant in game. A little more fiddly then the proper xbox batteries but much cheaper. (plus you can buy them everywhere)

Re: Why is it so hard to get hold of the official 360 batterys?

why bother with the official batteries when you can get superior eneloop batteries.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sanyo-improv...e_ce_ai_ps_t_5

these last for weeks on end in a 360 controller and have very low self discharge.

Also in need of at least two of those things, as out of 3, only 1 left, and theres is 2 controllers, which doesn't help. I thought they would be around 5er each, but thats not the case. SCAN has them but with a wire and for almost £13 each, i'd rather buy a new controller

These have been hard to find for a while. They have so many different colours of controllers now they seem to have given up on them. My official MS batteries have stopped charging all together.

I'd just go for rechargeable AA's. You're not limited to just using them in your pad and they're cheaper.

I've found one of my MS batteries has completely died whereas the other doesn't last more than a few hours now.

I've swapped over to just using rechargeable AA's as I already had some lying around and they last well. I've still got the play and charge cable for if I completely run out of charge.
