I did think about posting in the beta thread, but its now being released tomorrow. Amazon have shipped my normal bog standard copy today so hopefully will be with me tomorrow! Anyone preordered theirs or you going to get it before/after work/uni/ironing?

Also renewed my Gold subscription, I noticed they have gone up a few quid on eBay probably because of the GoW release. Picked up 14 months for £35. Looking forward to a decent console game. Been a while.

Went down to Game today and traded in Black Ops and some reward points for it. Never been a huge Gears fan but a bit like a Michael Bay film in the summer time I always find something to enjoy and I am intrigued to see how they end things. Got 400 free MS points with it for some reason as well, cheeky bonus!

Turns out I wasn't the only one there for the midnight launch, I joined the queue at 11:30pm and didn't get served till 2am due an issue with them generating MS points.

Anyway I figure it was worth it, I got rid of my recently repaired now out of warranty console, got the GoW3 LE Slim 320GB pack + 800 MS points + some GoW3 DLC codes + download version of Crysis 2 for £149.99 and got a new copy of Deus Ex LE for £20 as well.

I really want to play it.....those TV ads are killing me though....they aren't that far off from what GoW1 looks like on a good PC....yet I know the XBox in-game gfx are going to be a far cry from that advert and it's kinda confirmed by how they slap "Representative of gameplay" on the advert....

*sigh* I bet they even have a partially working PC version in-house....

I made it through the first chapter of the campaign last night and so far it's exactly what I expected, kinda dumb but easy on the eye and very enjoyable. I liked the way they pulled the main characters together in an almost Pulp Fiction style too. Played some horde mode too and got to round twenty which is (for me who spent all of about five minutes playing Horde in Gears 2) pure insanity. I'll never make it to wave fifty unless I'm escorted by a team of qualified ninjas!

I love the series for a bit of OTT action, and would have picked this up release day, but its my birthday on Monday, so had to really leave the missus/family/ etc with another item to get, instead of just he normal money

Video reviews look epic (pun intended) and looks good fun. Might actually have a go on horde this time too...

On act 5 now. Enjoying it.

Got to lvl 50 on horde with a mate on sat night too but we just couldn't finish it and ended up hitting the sack at 6am

It's damn hard with only 2 peeps.

Enjoyed the game throughout. Definitely one of the best in the xbox line-up! I definitely prefer it over the other gears of war games too.
