Its one of those things i really want to see in person before i die!
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
That is truely awesome
Wish it was like that when we went at christmas. A little fizzling around Norway, but not much else. Real shame, but it is pretty awesome seeing it nevertheless!
Bear in mind that is a particularly powerful aurora for this year - we're currently right at a minimum in terms of solar activity, zero sunspots and almost no coronal mass ejections for a long time...
Check out www.solarcycle24.com if you plan on going anywhere =P
Best bet would be to head off in around 3 or 4 years when activity is back up again (thankfully it's independent of global warming so they can't blame latent activity on that).

how fast do the lights move?
are those panoramas?
The lights moved pretty slowly when i saw them - it was a VERY weak display then, so take that into account. I mean they changed constantly but more like an ooze
I believe proper displays move rapidly though!
There are some time lapse videos on youtube though.
Super!
Yup, had the pleasure of seeing it for real a couple of years ago in Iceland - Just breathtaking. I'll try and find the snaps I took; Not half as good as the ones above (didn't have a tripod, or long enough shutter time).
