    Editing MP3s

How would i go about taking some recordings from vinyl in mp3 format and chopping them up into tracks and generally polishing them up, removiong any exessive hiss, pops and crackles

Sony bought out Sonic Foundry so you're both right. Sony Sound Forge (as it's now called) will do the job very well, although personally i'm a Cool Edit Pro fan. Just a matter of personal taste though
For joy, apparently, it was all Franny could do to hold the phone, even with both hands.
