    dslr with hd video

i currently have a sony alpha 330 - which is a fantastic camera, but it has no video capabilities... can anyone recommend a suitable upgrade which as well as being a great camera, has the ability to record video at at least 720p

a couple of things that i do like about my camera which would be great if the next camera has equivilent features are steady-shot, which is really useful when i cannot be perfectly still when taking pictures and the adjustable live-view screen is really handy.

i have no brand allegiance of any kind, this has been the first camera i have owned... i suppose even recommendations for non-dslr cameras is fine too

Perhaps you should have a look at the Sony A33 and A55. IIRC,the Sony A560 and A580 also offer video.

my a55 shoots great video in 1080i, plus you get to use any lenses you already have for the sony.

i am going to take a look at some reviews of these cameras now - might try and find a nearby jessops and have a play.

does anyone have any experience with the smaller type cameras? like the sony NEX or the panasonic G1?

the nex is a scaled down version of the a-33 (make fun of that bitches)

    Re: dslr with hd video

    I bought a Nikon D5000, it was 570 @ jessops
    with the following:

    - +1 battery
    - 2 lens
    - bag
    -2x UV filter
    -8GB 20MB/s SD card

The video recording feature is quite nice for the price and considering that it's a DSLR, it can do steady 24 fps.

As I have checked, eventhough some cameras are advertised as 1080 capable they can do only around 4fps which is useless, so be aware
