    ALBA are the biggest...

...importers of Electrical stuff to the UK. And possibly the entire of Europe.

They include Bush, Goodmans, Breville and Hinari as well as their own brand name.

I know they are pants, but thought you might like to know.

They are the highest importers of units. Heard it on Radio 4 this am. Interview with the MD who is based (un suprisingly) in China...where it mostly comes from.

There's a list of all their brands at their homepage:

    http://www.albaplc.com/index.html

They simply buy and rebadge cheap far eastern products. I've bought stuff from a few of their brands and for the ridiculously cheap prices I've paid, I've never had any complaints at all, I've had my money's worth even if some of the items have eventually gone wrong. With the advent of the internet, it's become relatively easy to buy brand name products for the same price that Argos or Index charge for Alba brand ones, it's a shame that the low margin internet retailers don't deal in Alba to make them even cheaper than they are now.

I bought a couple of (different) Alba £30 DVD players as presents earlier in the year, and both have worked flawlessly as far as I can tell, and they look stylish into the bargain. My friend recently bought a Goodmans GDB-3 set top box for £45 from Argos, and the picture quality is fine. It's a lot snappier at doing stuff than my four year old Pace, too.

Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

    no wonder NTL are crap

everything they make is mass marketed shiz, made for budget ranges, and is useless

apprently bush used to be ok, and make good stuff, till they got overtook, i dont see how someone so cack, can rise and overtake so many companies, making em also cack, NTL, and bush being examples
