    Recording.. Streamed Audio?

    Hey,

    Hi,

Kinda need an answer as soon as possible, if thats possible/cool.. But just wondering how do I record a Real Media .ram stream, or is it possible?..

Can I use the windows sound recorder? (I have tried but can't get it working!)..

Just wanted to record something off a radio station as I am on it presenting!..

    Any help greatly appreciated!..

    Thanks

You can use sound recorder. All you have to do is set the recording volume window thing so that the check is underneath the "Wave" scroller thing.

Although I think sound recorder only allows 60 seconds of recording time (unless you fiddle with recording blank tracks and doubling them up). Have a google for Audacity, it's free.

Cool, and WOW thanks alot, you posted in speedy time and I immediately downloaded and installed 'Audacity' in time and managed to record most of the Radio show!.. So thanks ALOT! (reason I needed so quickly was that show started at 6pm and just finished at 8pm)..

Also sorry I didn't reply sooner just my internet connection went down for no apparent reason (but LUCKILY just after radio show finished! )..

Thanks for other replies/help.. And I have to admit that Audacity program is amazing, for quick decent quality recording and completely FREE!!..

Thanks again.. Help was MUCH appreciated!.. and will check out Totalrecorder!

There is a pluggin for winamp called streamripper. You can also use audiograbber, which i prefer to Audacity personally. Not sure how legal all this is though - is it like recording TV shows on you VHS, technically illegal but no one cares so long as you don't sell/share?

Theres nothing illegal, with what I wanted to do, as I was presenting a radio show and performing a couple of songs and so recorded those.. (well the whole show!).. And soo surely as its my OWN material its fine..

But I can see what your saying, but no shouldn't be a problem as long as its used correctly.. Its like anything really

Audiograbber is that free?.. Will have to check it out.

Streambox VCR is the tool, it literally rips the datastream rather than records the stream.
