They do look cheaper than the B&W's. But theyre a helluva lot easier to drive (90db/w/m 6 ohms compared to B&W's 89db/w/m 8 ohms)

Any news on the Heybrooks? They look as cheaply made as my set of JPW floorstanders

They look crap, but they sound a lot better than they look. There isnt much in it with the midrange and treble really, but they own the B&W's when it comes to low end extention and control.

Theyre a keeper!

Yeah but it just seems to make sense that B&W > JPW, Heybrook, anything from "Audio Group" really! Lol.

And those speakers DO look cheaper-made than B&Ws. If materials such as thinner wood is used along with cheaper drive units, crossovers, not as much internal bracing, etc then it will affect the sound. I'm surprised they sound better.


And Sony/Bose.... Urghh *shudder*

Tell me about it, my speaker weighs 231lbs a piece and looks like something from 2001 space odysee!! It took 4 people to get them in the basment. And everytime they start slipping a little bit you remind yourself that your holding aprox. 30K in your hands

BTW, some companys dont use thick speaker walls, but instead they use soundcoats which is like a paste that dampens the internal cabinet so no need for extra wall thikness is needed.
