Postal DVD rentals - Expect a few delays

    Taken from http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/09...o_island_fire/

Online DVD service Video Island is battling to restore normal operations after a fire in its west London warehouse last week. Video Island runs the DVD rental businesses for Tesco, ITV, MSN and easyGroup, as well as its own direct consumer brand, Screenselect.co.uk. The 150,000 combined subscribers are warned to expect a "temporary disruption" and some delays.
Expect a few issues if you uses any of these DVD rental suppliers.

Screen select were pretty poor anyway on turnaround times - allegedly we will be getting some compensation eventually.

    A completely unrelated thought:
Imaginge your mail order dvd rental business was losing money cos of items lost in the post and too many damaged discs, wouldn't a large fire be an excellent way to recoup these losses? After all everyone knows how well these things would burn so you would expect precautions to be taken...
