Matt...now that you mention it, it does have a cuban vibe to it....must be all that rusting metal and Palm trees....

WOW those are amazing, good stuff.

Anyone notice that the shot of the docks was originally a picture of the Seal dock in San Fransisco where hundreds of seals just laze around all day soaking up rays? It looked better in a silohette....but just thought I'd mention it...

btw. what sorta lense do you need to get that much focus on the kids? i've only got a 2.8, and i have to get pretty close to get that sorta effect

My favourite lens is a Canon 85mm 1.8 .... followed by my 50mm 1.8, and my 35mm 2.0. The 80mm is tricky for indoor portraits, but as a result you get some lovely crops...anything wider and I have to change lenses...

Lovely shots ibm, you must be a natural. As a father myself I know you can never take enough photo's of your babies/children but the ones you chose to post were great. I have an astonishing amount of images from some recent travels that need to be edited through. Another stage I'm at is with test prints that are coming out darker then they should with my new printer (pixima ip3000), though I'm sure this can be remedied as I was lucky enough to be given a copy of photoshop cs. Now I just need to learn how to use it.
Rhyth is selling:
Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di ll LD Aspherical (IF) £230 +pp
Canon 50mm 1.8 II £50 +pp Proven good copies.

awww ur children are adorable ibm. You clearly have a natural talent that many try for years to get. fantastic photos
For getting the contrast right in Photoshop, just open up the image, hit CTRL+M which displays the Curves control. click at two points on the line (usually one square left and down from the top right, and another one square up and left from the bottom left) Now drag the bottom left point to the left (about half a square) and the top right point up (again about half a square) then play around until you get the right look....
hope that helps
