    Line 6 Guitar Port + RiffTracker/RiffWorks software

Not entirely sure which forum this should be in now following the change in structure but as it's hardware related i thought here would be better.

Anyway, i was just wondering if anyone had/used one or the rifftracker version with the Riffworks recording software. If so what your thoughts are on them because lately i've been really tempted to get one but not totally convinced myself yet.

just in case anyone's interested who hasn't got a clue about what i'm talking about http://line6.com/products/computerbased/

p.s Anyone know of good online uk based instrument retailers that might sell them?

    Cheers, Bres

i've got one of these. i got given it for my birthday by some mates this summer, it was supposed to be the stadard one but they sent me the rifftracker one instead!

it seems very good, but im more into just playing than recording. the amp modelling is very impressive and sounds great if you have a good stereo, it's replaced my peavey bandit 112 for sure.

the recording facility works well, its clean and has plenty of trakcs and the drummer is pretty convincing but ive not used anything similar before so cant compare it.

if you've got any specific questions i'll try to help.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, i've pretty much decided i'm definitely going to get one, just looking for somewhere to get it. both my local guitar shops are line 6 dealers and there are plenty of uk online retailers i've found but they're all selling it for around £95-99 when it's only $99 (approx £55) in the states. which is why i'm trying my hardest to find it for as cheap a price over here as possible at the moment. finding the riffworks software isn't much of a problem as it can be bought direct from the line 6 website and downloaded for $99. With that in mind though, because i've been checking out ebay, i haven't been able to stop myself looking at second hand Pod v2.0's and PodXT's if the price is right. i know the PodXT works with the software, not sure about the Pod v2.0 though. Anyone know what the main differences are between the 2? what do you guys reckon? pay the disgusting UK prices i've found so far or hold out in hope of finding it somewhere cheaper over here.

    Cheers, Bres
