The first film to truly disturb me was Howard The Duck. When the light shines out of that guys eyes and blows up the truck.....

Most disturbing moment ever. It's the only thing I've seen that really makes me sick inside.

The ring spooked me, and aliends gave me nightmares when I was younger, the bit when they come through the ceiling...

Dear god that is one of the best films ever, i was so impressed with it at the end. i wouldnt call is scary as such, but it makes you think

    **edit**

There is one film that i found really really wierd, i mean in a wierd kinda none-wierd way, but i cant remember the name....

This guy gets some other people who are ill and gonna die soon to rob places from his own chain or something, then the other owner comes to see him and all hell breaks lose, the wierdest bit was:

They in this kitchen and they have like 2 teams, the 2 leaders just say like "yeah you tag him" "ok now you take him" and so on until every one has a gun pointed at their heads...... then some guy knocked off a pan or something and down every one goes

I didn't find it that disturbing, open watching it a few times. Infact, more eye-opening. I think it shows a path that you can take, and what it leads to. It subsequently puts you off taking that path in the first place. Brilliant, brilliant film, but I didn't find it disturbing.

When I was ickle, the evil dude in Riger Rabbit had me worried. Really worried. Other than that, I'm fairly easy when it comes to films. Still need to see Battle Royale, but I'm more disturbed by songs that are filtered out to the masse by a band [heh...group] called Blue than any film.

When i was young it was:

Stephen King's IT (can't sleep, clowns will eat me...)
    Aliens
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (the bit at the end where the leather-clad Nazi's face melts... nice)

Now, having watched a lot more films, the only films that have distrubed me a little are:

Audition (not so much the graphicness of the torture, more how the girl acts!)
Irreversible (the fire extinguisher and the anal rape scenes)
Suicide Circle Club (Japanese film, with lots of gorey suicides)

Ringu/Ring and Battle Royale are awesome films, but i wouldn't say that they are disturbing.
    On your 'to do' list

Hehehe, my friend says to put down Freddy Got Fingered as she found it VERY disturbing (dancing in the corpse and swinging the newborn baby for instance!)!

I found it totally hilarious, though the bit where he licks his mate's open wound with the bone sticking out made me squirm!!!

The first 2 I can remember freaking me out were The Exorcist and Children of the Corn.

Recently, i'd have to say most disturbing are, Seven and 28 Days Later. I LOVED 28 Days Later, I like movies with a bleak abysmal end of society in the future, I like the idea of the world being desolate and peaceful, wipe the slate clean and start over. I'm wierd Was very disturbing to think that could happen any day. We have no idea what ou governments are messing with

Only film I have ever stopped halfway through is Nil By Mouth (Gary Oldman directed it if my mind serves me right) Its about a disfunctional family in council housing flats, it was really bleak and depressing to watch and what really got me was when the husband or boyfriend layed into the main woman character. Found it really disturbing.

Shrek. Scared the bejayzuz outta me.

Um, no. Disturbed me? As opposed to scared?

Can't think of many, except maybe a couple of old films, 'Altered States' and 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'

They disturbed me. Drug weirdness and Mental Health treatment. Certainly both made me think.

There's a film called 'In the Company of Men' which disturbed me, and before you lot start it's not gay porn. Basically about two guys who decide to take revenge of the female gender for a list of imagined transgresions. They select a deaf girl and try to emotionally destroy her. This is supposed to be a comedy.
