Need help system failed memory test!

I have just bought 4 x 512 MB of Corsair TWINX1024-4000PRO and it will not work in my computer with all 4 sticks but each stick will work in each slot one at a time. I dont get the problem i have already reseted my BIOS and cleared my CMOS still got nothing. When i first boot my computer i get a black screen and it says "System failed memory test"

    My computer has:
    A8n-SLI Deluxe Mobo
    2 x BFG Geforce 7950 GT OC
    4 x 512 MB Corsair Pc 4000 ram
    AMD Athlon X2 4200+

    Any help is greatly appreciated

Also the computer works flawlessly with only 3 sticks in any of the 4 slots.

You may need to loosen the timings manually in the bios. Default timings should work fine with 1 stick per channel (2 sticks total), and with 3 sticks you are not in dual channel mode since you don't have pairs. Four sticks means that you have two sticks per channel and two channels running. For a test try manually setting much looser timings to see if that is the issue.

What voltage are you using for the memory. Also, have you seen a setting called command rate? Make sure it is set to 2T, (not 1T) or the system will not boot with 4 DIMMs.

Those settings will be listed in your manual. Look in the section that describes the BIOS Setup. This will be in the Advanced area.

You may need to contact ASUS then. It seems that the memory is not the issue as a combination of 3 modules will work.

Do you have the latest bios for that board?
