    Asus motherboard and Corsair memory

Im looking at buying :Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-8500C5D 2x1GB 240-Pin DIMM XMS2-8500 for my new Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. I see the fsb is 1066hz on the board so does this mean i can the memory will run at 1066 or should i just get the pc 6400 800 hz memory......

Sorry im new here and not sure where this post should go.....

    Thanks anyway.

The memory will be run at a maximum of DDR800 unless you overclock. The 1066 applies only to the CPU FSB speed. Either memory is great for that MOBO. The 8500 will allow more OCing headroom if you want to try for OCing the memory past 800mhz.

Thanks for the quick reply. So in your opinion is it worth paying the extra £50 or so for the ddr1066. The processor is an Dual Core 2 E6600.....

On the 975 MOBO, no. I'd go with the PC6400 and go for the fastest OC you can at a 1:1 ratio.
