    Re: CPU Socket Sandy Bridge

How can a motherboard be delivered with bent pins if a cover is in place? There is a reason why these are always reported as Customer fault...

They can be bent before the cover is put in place by the manufacturer.

My mate got a P8Z68-V and that had two bent pins in it. Perhaps there is some issue with these.

As you was awear that the bent pins were an issue, you would need to inform
ourselves of this so that we can resolve this. However, as this has been
used, we are unable to take this back as there have been more damaged
    caused.

Again, I apologise for any inconvenience or annoyance caused.
I would demand to speak to someone who has a grasp of english as obviously they cannot have understood the original complaint if they reply in this manner.

You might have some luck saying you followed the user instructions carefully and completely, yet the product was not fit for purpose. It would be up to ebuyer to prove that you had caused the damage through misuse rather than it being an inherent fault. If you took care when installing the CPU and there are no signs of mistreatment/misuse (get as much evidence of this as possible) then you should be able to RMA under sales of goods act. State clearly that you have used the board only in accordance with the instructions and include evidence suggesting lack of misuse.
Scan have a paid for repair service agreement with asus. i sent my RIIE board back, paid £20+vat and the board was sent back to Asus for repair.

    It came back fully working.

Call ebuyer and see if they can arrange a similar repair - it's got to be better than binning the board off entirely!

    it does take several weeks....

the boards have serial numbers tied with the lot number. When you return your board it's possible to see if that board was shipped by that supplier and when. Whether ebuyer etc check this is another matter.....

Scan cannot send the board for me. You have to buy it from them. Apparently the service centre is in Germany!! The European support provided by Taiwan is next door to useless. Theres no telephone support at all. What a nightmare!

    Re: CPU Socket Sandy Bridge

Asustek have a marketing team based in the UK. Not sure if they'll be able to help you, but it can't hurt to ask surely.

    ASUSTek (UK) Ltd.
Hemel One, Boundary Way, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7YU

Try doing a bit of searching around for a phone number for them and give them a ring direct. They sorted out my B3 exchange a while back, but that may just be because I won it in a competition they were running.

If you get stuck I can PM you an email address.

I am stuck for contact details at the moment. I was given the email address warranty@asustek.co.uk by Robbie from Asus America but that bounced! I thought about posting on bit tech because they have an Asus forum on there.

    Re: CPU Socket Sandy Bridge

Well their phone number is 01442 202700 but they tell you to call 0870 120 83 40 which then goes to some call centre and after selecting component products "James" answers and tells me that they cannot support motherboards over the phone and I have to use the RMA page on the Asus website. The RMA page goes to Taiwan where Stacy Shen then tells you that they cannot repair it and I have to find my own repair centre. Great service! NOT!

So now I've been given the email address support_uk@asus.com but no doubt that will end up at Taiwan where Stacey will repeat herself for the 3rd time. So now it's a toss up between calling Asus America at about 3pm or try the repair centre in Germany.

    Never buy an Asus board!
