I think i might be getting the GEFORCE 7300GT 512MB AGP GRAPHICS CARD with the game "Chronicles of Riddik" for free. Any information about this card would be considerd as very helpful thanks all for your help you've all been great

bottom of the range last-gen card. still an improvement over the x1550, but only a slight one

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts...27%2C432%2C479 - they don't have all the products currently being considered, the 7800gt should be about as fast as a 8600 would be, though. the chart doesn't go down low enough to include the fx5500 or x1550

    Re: Decisions, decisions..

uve given urself 100 bucks to upgrade gfx card. People who have knowledge have given you suggestions to the best card for that money. My advice, is listen to what is recommended. 7300 really isnt a very good card. Get the card i mentioned above and then u can enjoy anygame out atm with fine framerate, depending what that 6GIG cpu actually is..

your obviously looking at the 512 mb ram and thinking wowza, but its basically irrelevant in your case unless your hiding the fact your using a 24inch monitor

buy from that link i gave u? Use ur mum/dads card and give them the money. General rule of thumb, never buy anything from a shop, buy it online, unless its fans etc or stuff under 10 quid. Really recommend getting that 1950pro over the 7300.

    Re: Decisions, decisions..

I think what you seem to be missing is... DON'T buy that other PC ! It's really not a good deal.

As directhex says, you can have a better PC for the same money And you wouldn't need to compromise on the GFX.

I'm not sure why the other PC seems a good deal to you, does it have a monitor too for that price ?

    Re: Decisions, decisions..

Well seeing as your are getting windows XP and Not Vista (=no DX10) you would be better off getting an ATI X1950 XT, x1950xt's are better than x1950 pros for arounf the same amouint of money.

twice as good as the 8600, twenty times as good as the x1500
