I used to play Battlefield 1942, Desert Combat and then BF2
Desert Combat was with the 21st Century Warfare tournament and then BF2 with the European Battlefield Command tourney.
Simply the best way to play online. None of the noobs and tk'ers you get on public servers. Just serious players.
I have a Razer Diamondback mouse and for gaming I use an Ergodex controller rather than a keyboard
I had a Saitek Eclipse but I hated it and went back to my old Microsoft Internet keyboard.
huge shooter fan here, think I have pretty much played them all over the last 10 years. At the moment I am seriously addicted to Project Reality ( Project Reality : Battlefield 2 Mod) , I highly recommend any serious team shooter fan tries it. good servers to play on are the iGi ones, just so happens to be the clan I am with so come join the fun.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
I dont understand how anyone can play an fps efficiently on a game controller, but there was a competition a while back between two competent gamers, one with a pad and the other a kb & mouse. It was pretty close from what I remember (if anyone else knows a link to the article please post it up).
I cant use a pad for fps to save my life though...
Logitech G15 rev 2 and a Razor DeathAdder
I'll play FPS.. just not online. Too many serious players online...
I can hit a barn door though. Just not with anything smaller than a nuke.
<3 fps
Dedicated FPS player whether it be on console or PC although my weapon of choice is most definitly a mouse
Oh, I use a Copperhead and a Saitek Gamers kayboard, also sometimes the Nostromo pad thingies depending on game. Cheapie Allsop cloth mousemat, Razer mat and Icemat depending on game.
CS:S gamer here
I cant stand the idea of FPS's on consoles, moving a little joystick with your thumb to aim is just so alien.
I play FPS's more than anything else. I do like RTS's though
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have to confess to being an old addict, though I've been cold-turkey for a few years now. But I worked though all the old classics, from Doom (the original, and actually I even include Castle Wolfenstein, and again I mean the original not RTCC) up to about the era of Halflife.
Sad to say though, for various reasons, I've not dome much since.
Looking on the bright side, though, it means I've now got loadsa games to enjoy, starting with the range Box, and I should get them all at bargain basement prices.
The original Doom was the most amazing thing you'd ever seen, wasn't it? The youngsters wouldn't understand.
There has never been such a total revolution in gameplay since. Everything that has come since Doom (and before that Castle Wolfenstein) has just been an evolution of that.
So many maps to choose from too. So easy to make. Even I had a go.
"Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious, the eccentric, the heretical, the unwelcome and the provocative provided it does not tend to provoke violence. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having."
Indeed. It was a revolution in 'feel'. It was, compared to anything I can remember playing before at any rate, incredibly atmospheric. And sure, it's rather dated these days, but in the context of the times, it was a giant leap forward.
I'd have to agree, doom made blasting those monsters back to hell feel really satisfying.
I enjoy a good fps, again prefer to use the mouse but the 360 isn't too bad.
Only one i have ever really played online was Red Orchestra, maps are so big and with so many people your bound to get a few kills.
CoD 3 wasn't too bad online with the 360 but few players and smaller maps make it very difficult if you don't live on it.
Would be very nice to see someone do somthing like Red Orchestra again with a more up to date graghics and physics engine.
Also looking foward to seeing what Armed assualt 2 and Operation Flashpiont 2 can deliver.
A good deal of my PC titles are shooters: Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Doom 3 & its expansion, Rogue Spear and its expansions, Alien vs. Predator, Crysis, Unreal Tournament, Half-Life and its expansions, HL2 and Ep. 1 and 2, and F.E.A.R., among others. Funny thing is, I have very few shooters for my PS2, and haven't owned many over the years for my older consoles... ^_^
