I'm a huge FPS fan, but prefer my realism based shooters. Was a huge fan of Project Reality and I'm also an iGi clan member, but these days my time is taken up with ArmA (Armed Assault).
I used to be ridiculously addicted to CS/CS:S.
Kicked that habit, lasted a year, then got a 360.
Bugger.
im in love with pc fps's my first one was soldier of fortune 2....oh how i miss those days, then moved on to mohaa and been hoping for a good fps...and i got it im glued on cod4 atm altho its been frustrating since the death of my logitech mx510 i use a generic keyboard and generic mouse on a razer mantis mousemat which does wonders for the generic mouse XD.
Love it. Mostly play COD4 now, but still have the odd dabble at CS:S and DOD:S
Using an 11 year old Logitech wireless keyboard (which frankly ROCKS) and a Logitech MX1000

You certainly can tell the difference between playing regularly and infrequently Back when I played FPSes almost every day I used to get accused of being an aimbot, these days I keep wondering if someone switch my rounds for blanks.

Mostly all I play now are FPS games- BF2 + mods, COD4, ET:QW, HL2. I love them
I play bf2,stalker and cod can wait for clear sky
It's Serious Sam (all versions) for me, nice and simple plot, mow down anything that moves, but not so easy when you have up to 100 monsters after you all at once.
Aye, the Serious Sam series were always good for a laugh, and they didn't (/don't) require a monstrous PC... even when there are hordes of baddies on-screen... which can't be said of most other FPS
Welcome to the forums btw
I play cod2, cod4 and some crysis well if their is anyone on a crysis server I play seems to be one of them games that was over hyped and then sorta fell on it's face lol.
Add another victim to the FPS addicted list tho I have to admit recently I've been slacking. I'm a Quake and UT fan (hate CS series) but the FPS that is on top for be will always be the Tribes series (1 and 2, they screwed it up with Vengeance).
Can't wait for the next one. Oh as for the mouse and keyboard, I've always had a cheap keyboard and a Logitech mouse (MX 210, MX500, MX1000) and now I'm using a £4 mouse but I hope I'll get a MX518 soon.
I pretty much only play games at LAN parties now, which means about 4 times a year. But then it's solid 20h/day gaming for 3 days, plus a load of warm-up rounds at home in the upcoming weeks and fretting about hardware inferiority.
I too use a cheap-as keyboard but with a Razer Copperhead mouse and Exactmat, which has stayed silky smooth for me and definitely upped my precision. But everyone's right, you've gotta play regularly to keep your mouse aim sharp. Those turn-around-pluck-someone-out-the-air pure reaction shots are more luck now than the judgement they used to be!
Favourite games are UT2004 (it can get boring at times but I don't think I will ever forget some of the epic CtF battles on Face Classic... "Headshot!" ), CoD4, Ghost Recon and BF1942 Desert Combat.
And for non-LAN action, I still love replaying some of the old adventure classics like Deus Ex.
I am a huge FPS player.
I played CS for about 10 years (including a couple of years at CS:S) then moved to Project reality (which by the way has a new release on Friday which should be awesome ). I mainly play Pr now, but I have played just about every FPS there is and quite a few of the mods.
Stuff i have installed atm (on my new vista 64 OS) are Crysis, PR, HL2 (portal, CS and all the rest). Which come to think of it isn't very much but then its only been installed 2 weeks.
I use a Saitek eclipse mk I and a logitech G9 with an Icemat v2. And I love them!
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
When I was a student I used to make a bit of money doing night shifts as a security guard/doughbag/rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish-in-hat. On my last saturday night there I was doing my walk around the building. I entered the IT bit. There was a brand new straight-out-of-the-box PC, switched on, with the Doom loading screen on its monster 17in monitor. (Totally new, untouched, no savegames, nothing. I guess he'd installed the demo and then got dragged to the pub on Friday evening.) "What's this then?" I asked myself as I prodded it inquisitively with my sticky mitt.
I finished the demo that night. My replacement had to come find me in the morning as my radio battery was dead and I was glued to the keyboard. Then the sargeant had to come find us, as my replacement was watching over my shoulder for the last two levels. And so was my addiction started.
That Doom demo must have cost me £10K in hardware over the years, and god knows how much in software and lost sleep/relationships.
