Yeah I got this one, just after dying when I watch in slow motion as the AI terorist lobbed my own grenade back at me, exploding in my face without the slightest chance of getting out the way
i am a bit late but i am going to get the game tomorow, i loved cod 3 so i am defiantly going to enjoy this one
I take back what I said about not liking the whole enemies-out-of-no-where cod4 gameplay. The demo was like that; and the US missions too - didn't really like them. But the SAS missions were amazing. The sniper one was awesome.
I truly believe this game has the best ending of a videogame, ever. It was stunning. The fun fast paced mission after the credits was great too.
I liked the game.... but it seems like-- I don't know.... i don't think i'll ever play it again. The difficulty settings are aweful... I hate that whole "easy-enemy-dmg=3 hard-enemy-dmg=10" style of settings. Just seems pointless playing the game on hard. The multiplayer seems like a grind, and is too rushed. It could be really cool if it were a bit more tactical and the maps were bigger.
Overall score from me? I guess about 78%. Good graphics, cool story with fun gameplay (bar the last few levels... they seemed a bit sloppy).
I guess that people play it on the harder settings for more of a challenge, at least that's why after finishing it on hardened I'm now going through it on veteran.
What variations of the multiplayer mode have you been playing? The S&D mode is very good and requires a lot more tactics and is a slower pace than the DM style's.
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
I played on hardened and did some levels on veteran... It doesnt seem more of a challenge, it just seems like "more enemies, more firepower, less health" which i don't find more challenging, just more frustrating.
The multiplayer would just benifit for simple things, bigger maps and longer distances between choke points would make the gameplay alot more tactical. It's not aweful- it's just not my favourite way of playing.
Is this more demanding than Crysis?
I've seen CoD4 run superbly on a massive array of system setups. Runs really well on a LOT of hardware.
Very polished game, well done IW and Activision
you don't need a £300 + graphics card to run COD4, and the only way your gonna get to actually see all those fantastic graphics in Crysis is through your pocket.
I can run crysis on my dell xps M1330 at native resolution (ok it's only 1280 x 800 but still)
2.2ghz core 2 duo
2gb RAM
8400gs 128mb
I was stunned it works so perfectly
Love the game. Best i've played in some time.. little short though.
