hi ive just played it for hours straight ... the map is incredibly big and free to roam in... so many ways to approach the level... but alas the frame rate can suffer tho i turned the aa off and had most settings at med or high and it was mostly fine.

does anyone else notice missing textures on rocks?? like maybe its just badly implemented shadowing but i keep getting black patches on rocks? oh yeah im running a 9600xt with the new 4.1 catalyst drivers...

p.s. anyone be able to tell me how to test frame rates?? i dont know how?

I found for the size of the download the actual demo was a bit short. Took me a while to get used to it initially but once I had it sussed it took around 25 mins to do the level start to finish. Nice touch that you have to go prone with the sniper rifle to steady the aim. You can see that DX9 has been used in full force with this one.

Managed to run it in 1024x768 with everything set at medium and no AA or AF and it looked really amazing. In 800x600 I had everything set to high except the water and it was really smooth.

Played it, and absolutly loved it!! Trying to find how many ways I can get to the top now, seems to be a few

For the PFS type: r_DisplayInfo 1
Also try \r_RenderMode 3 for "cel shaded" renderering ala XIII

It looks different tosay the least. I prefer the styling of XIII cos its much simpler. The detail lever is too much for cel shading on this game but its looks good none the less. but I doubt you'll play the whole game like it!

    I'll grab a screenie in a sec....

Beware, large pics so ive linked them (700kish, got no image editing apps)

Nice demo. Way too short for a 400mb+ download though.

Its cery good, after a few plays theirs alot of cool tricks you can do and different stuff you can pick up if you approach places from certain angles. Things like the patrol boat with the big guns on it, found if you approach from the beach you can shoot the people before they get in, approaching from any other angle they jump in and you end up having to blow it up. Oh and its runs fine on my machine. 2.2ghz athlon, 512mb ram, 9600XT

edit: if you swim up and sneak under the wood you can get in the patrol boat and shoot them while the fish . Also pig hunting is fun, especially with grenades
