I don't doubt that one bit if you are talking about modern games... (if they're optimized to run on dual core)

for older games though:... what about quake 4, doom 3, half life 2 - they run on ultra settings on my PC. in 1024x768.

if i had the money, i would be running quad core, 8gb ram, crossfire.. but i don't so i have had to find a balancing point of what i'm happy with running stuff at.. and when i do come to upgrade then i will notice the jump in speed more than say someone who's gone from an 8800 to a 9800gtx..

I have had the biggest 'bang per buck' out of this machine, and in HEXUS reviews thats all that matters..

Hmm, after reinstalling xp, and RMAing my dodgy hard drive, Crysis seems to be much less prone to crashing, hurray

Hey stevie, soryy if I sounded kinda rude, but I agree, I had a pentium 3 HP with 64 MB RAM, and I definitely see the improvement. Though, if I had my choice, I would get the $15000+ Mac Pro.

you didn't sound rude one little bit..

its just your statement just needed a little more 'expansion'.. hence my reply to it.

I don't know what i sound like on this thread, (i sounded more rude than you - sowwy) I was kind of in a strange mood yesterday and it seemed like the right place to posts crysis framerate stats...
    _____

I frequently tend to miss a 'point' in my threads though.. and after reading your other posts.. (only just read them by the way)..

I would suggest - just be happy with what you have now, not worth upgrading, wait for nehalem in nov/dec- i assume with £2000 to spend you could afford one. then come back and post all your 8 core benchmarks with whatever graphics are out then.. Nvidia gtx380 and ATI 5800 probably... and make everyone on this forum envious/annoyed of you..

if your wife wants the £2k for herself, then go out and buy a couple of £30" dell's.. they will look quite nice with your PC..

(psst - I have £6k saved up to do just this.. i'm a malicious person in digital life - quite shy in real life, but malicious in digital form.. tee hee)

and my point in my previous threads - why upgrade when your current PC can still run it..

    that is all...

Alright thanks. I probably won't upgrade for another few years after reading all theses posts. My PC will probably let me run all games at least at minimum for a while.
