Aliens Vs Predator 3 PC Game?

I have not seen the new Aliens Vs Predator 2 movie yet, the 1st movie was passable as I recall.
However, now that a new AVP movie was released, isn’t there a big chance that a new Alien Vs Predator 3 FPS PC game will follow?!

The 2001 Aliens Vs Predator 2 PC game was awesome! Storyline and plot, general atmosphere and sound were almost unparalleled!
Rivaled only by Doom 3 and Half Life 2.

I would love to see a new AVP3 game using Doom3 engine and following the plot from where AVP2 left off with all the high-tech marines, the dark and sinister storyline and the cool multi-vision modes!

i used to love the old AVP games too.
as for AVPR - its a complete turnaround, takes off straight from the last movie but it is a vast improvement (weak in a few areas but most of it kicks ass.)

There is a PC game coming out that sort of follows AvP2, it's being developed for consoles as well so it will be a pile of ****e

There still hasn't been a successor to AVP2 survivor multiplayer. Nothing that captures the atmosphere of it anyway . Thing is, I'd want it to be done through steam really - it would just make it work so well. There are a few mods, but all fall short.

An AVP3 that wasn't console-ised or 'tweaked' with 'features' but merely an improved and up to date AVP2 would be awesome and I'm sure sell like hotcakes. It was the environment that made AvP2 SP brilliant, and also the MP. There is simply no other game where you can drop from the ceiling as an alien and bite someones head off, where you feel so vulnerable as a marine with your poor vision - weighing up whether to use your shoulder lamp to see or to hide and not give away your position. The sheer panic on survivor when your tattered band of marines would huddle into any defensible corner whilst you hear the shrill cry of monsters all around you was heart stopping.

Maybe, one day, when they wanna milk the franchise for a bit more easy cash, until then though they've got the AVP movie franchise to bleed dry.

I heard AVP was great though I never played, so I would be interested in a sequel.

Don't hope for an AVP3. It'll only disapoint you.

I'm saying that the franchise has sold out. I'm sure they won't rectify this by making a really good game.

I'm afraid its probably true - when AVP2 came out there was no real film franchise to follow, just the lore and the comics. Now with the films, It would be way to easy to just do film tie-in etc rather than properly make an original game. Which is a shame, as I love the whole Aliens series, and AVP was soooo cool - that one marine mission where you had to go into the alien hive do something then peg it out as they ALL chased you was quality... Ah, to hear the sound of a pulse rifle again....

dont think iv played avp2. however avp for the jaguar and avp for the pc are some of the best games ever.

the only thing that really stands out with it or being a very different FPS was jedi knight. lightsaber fights and force powers not even a star wars fan but that was fun as hell
