So its all a bit subjective then? The 2 i was looking at were the G5 and the copperhead. It's good advice to try before you buy - do any of the big high street retailers stock these does anyone know? My experience of expensive not always being the best was in the logitech bluetooth desktop - awful imho, it never connected properly.

i used to have a G7 but the batteries were annoying as hell they would run out just as you were rounding a corner in css or as you lined up a perfect headshot.
switched to a bf2142 edition G5 and i love it so smooth, the weights are a bit of a gimmick though i chucked afew in when i first got it and then threw them in the drawer.
i tried a razer copperhead mouse and found them too small for my hands and a mate says the opposite about the G5 he doesn't like it because his hands are too small
Razor Lachesis here, took some getting used to but wouldn't go back now. Generally Razor/Microsoft and Logitech have the gaming mouse market covered, and you can't go wrong with either generally.

How true that is..... my mouse needed rma'ing and i almost cryed , i just couldnt get along with the microsoft optical and my kills went halved. Sim, watch your bk in cod waw yeh? i got a pro mouse now (it has shortcuts!).
Edit: My cursor keeps jumping randomly, anyone know why? Its laser so shouldnt really be affected by a black mouse mat.....
intellimouse 3.0 shape + razer tech = get a habu
i've had a mx518 for years and i love it. i'm always tempted by the newer ones but i guess i dont see them point in replacing something that works well for me.
I've never really had a 'gaming' mouse, always just had a MS wireless set, but picked up a wired Gigabyte one for £7 (Link to hexus bargains thread to be added). The main differences that I have noticed is getting used to increased sensitivity, but mainly how smooth a decent mouse flows over the mat... As mentioned before, good buttons also help, especially with a decent middle click!!!
Might be worth checking out that bargain one - just to see if you can live with a high dpi mouse. If not, then its only £7. Its really ergonomic and comfortable too...
Personally, I've always wanted a razer - infact, i bought a Habu, but it was just a little bit long for my hand... Shame, as it was lovely

MX518 for me!
Razer copperhead, cant be razer for gaming products IMO
"Which mouse is best?" is definately a subjective question - get one that you find comfortable to use and you will wonder how you ever coped without it
Still using my G7...and damn the battery switching is annoying...I make it a point to switch at the beginning of a session these days, although if I change mouse it'll be to a G9(or a newer one if out), I've gotten to hold one and they've managed to make an even more comfortable shape
I've also known somebody who said the same thing about mouse size/hand size so it's defeinately worth holding different models.
...but whatever you do, don't get a wireless mouse if you play a lot of games...
