Best thing to do is test one for yourself. Before I bought mine I read a lot of reviews and discussions. One of the big complaints, although it seems to apply to most of the LG/Phillips S-IPS panels is the anti-glare coating. Some people find it annoying but it's never bothered me and I'm quite fussy about dust and marks on my screen.

I think I'm gonna have to..

Hearing things or reading things on sites doesnt really help me so I'm just gonna have to force myself up there to get a good look at one

Thought I'd come back to this thread and mention that OLEDs (no backlight, true dark colours instead of washed out grey-looking like LCDs) are coming along nicely now it seems, they just need to find a way of manufacturing them cost-efficiently, currently an 11" screen (Sony XEL-1) is selling for $2,500 (about £1,500 in the UK, though they are actually trying to cheekily sell them for £3,000 [see bottom of page] instead, cheaper to get one shipped over the ocean!):

Guess it'll be a year or a couple before things get sane, things definitely progressing since they are apparently releasing a 40" one - but hardly ideal for games that, and I suspect it'd probably cost about $10k or something silly (for what it is)

Anyone know if there's any kind of centralised information or review or something on what OLED monitors are available (e.g. model/widthXheight/manufacturer/RRP) currently?

Oh, and apparently the new iPhone is going to use OLED:

(No that site doesn't have what I'm looking for btw, it seems to be primarily orientated at TVs sadly!)
