    Unreal 2

I just completed Unreal 2 – The Awakening.
OK the graphics were gorgeous, but I must say I was expecting a bit more than this. The game was too short! Even the expansion pack for Unreal 1, Return to Na Pali was larger than this!
The story, game play & movie-like atmosphere of Unreal 1 were superior to Unreal 2. I also liked the level design and music of the 1st game better.

The worst thing about Unreal 2 though, was the fact that it takes way too long for the weapons to reload! I found my self many times in the middle of an intense battle, waiting for almost 3 seconds for the game to reload then next round of bullets!

The coolest levels were Na Koja Abad and The Dorian Gray spaceship.
That Drakk Hive Planet was such a Matrix rip off!

I also noticed that some graphics shown in the preview pics that were released 2 years ago, when the game was still in development, are missing from the final game.
Some examples are the Shian Warriors, an asteroid belt around a star and a level with some flying snake type of creatures.

I hope Doom 3 will be as good as Doom I & II were and Duke Nuked Forever as good as Duke 3D.
    We’ll see…

It wasnt bad, good graphics but lacking a solid storyline.
Unreal 1 was superior in every way. The music was also brilliant to.

Although thats pretty much what you just said
100% in agreement with you mate

I enjoyed both. Unreal 2 was probably graphics over gameplay and imo had too many cut scenes, but it was good. Only played it the once though.

Unreal one was great, I'll never forget loading it up and playing that very first level - absolutely brilliant. But, imo, it went on and on and on and on, samey level after samey level. I never did finish it and I played it for months, just got fed up with it in the end.

Having said that, thinking about it, may just give it another go

The coolest thing about Unreal 1 was it's length!

Perhaps. Maybe. Quality or quantity? That is the question

Max Payne 1 or Max Payne 2?

Didnt really like unreal 2, graphics are very nice but it lacked a decent story and gameplay.

Forgot all about Unreal 2. My machine was not really up to playing it when it came out, but now my 9800Pro should give it a good spankin

it is short, and even the unreal 1 story was a bit lacking. fps's need storylines to be any good. look at HL, 6 years on, and still worth every penny you have payed for it.

    no way

The storyline was great for Unreal 1 - maybe your wasnt using the universal translator to read things as you went through the game ?

The size of it is what kept me
I never have completed it, tried about 10 times. Time to i think

Unreal 2 was a huge disppointment, good graphics with absolutely no story line. In saying that HL never really caught my attention either, I prefered Quake 2 on my dual voodoo 2 cards (the pinicle of graphics in them there days).
