Plus it's hardly spoiling anything, doesn't ruin the "story", as much as anyone could describe call of duty of having one.

For me CoD has now become completely dull. Made worse by unbalanced weapons *Cough* MP40 *Cough* and whiny little **** children that shouldn't be aloud to interact with other human beings, online or otherwise.
But I will still give this one a go, mostly because so many of my friends will be buying it. But the story mode still tends to keep me entertained for a good few hours, an when the multiplayer works and when you get into a decent match (with decent people)it can be very very good.
This is the one game release this year i am excited about, I love all CoD games, cant wait for this one.
Same here, although I will buy MW2.. I wont be pre-ordering it.
I've noticed that on some servers, but I've found a decent FFA server that I stay on alot now where the players generally seem alright (and roughly my skill level too). I find spawn point campers much more annoying anyway.
The weapon balance in Call of Duty 4 is one of the omst retarded things I've encountered, there simply isn't enough difference in the guns in terms of accuracy and recoil. People stick a red dot sight on a heavy machine gun and snipe over 200m, people put red dot sites on scorpions and P90's and can basically snipe plus get the benefit of rapid fire in close range combat.Well said, shame it lacks any urban combat though

i'm going to be playing the game on windows xp, how much will the gameplay be affected? my os is limiting my gfx CARDI DID HAVE VISTA BUT IT WAS CAUSING ME TOO MANY PROBLEMS SO I JUST WENT BACK TO XP!
no dedicatedd servers for the PC version BTW guys - no competetive play = goodbye cod series for me

I only know that there won't be dedicated servers for coop as it's pretty pointless to have one for it.

yeah it will just work the same way as consoles so there is no central servber and everyone connects to one certain host.
Means no custom content, no big 25 v 25 battles, no competetive mods and wont be used in competition.
I look forward to see how someone (valve) fills the void
oh so you are saying that hey have dedicated servers for xbox and ps3? also can you address my DX9 question above? i though they were going to realease DX9.L which was basically DX10 on XP?!

No XBOX and PS3 dont use dedicated servers but now on PC thats the way that it will work, same as consoles. With all previous COD PC titles you could run either a dedicated server or host from one single machine
