How annoying, eventually managed to kill the Sloth demon in the fade and the game crashed during the following cut scene .

I also recently finished it, clocked in 35 hours and didn't do most of the side quests!

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

I haven't really played any of these types of RPGs, but am tempted to try this seeing I can get it for £15.

What are the controls like, is it like an action RPG?

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Finished my 52 hour save with a dwarf commoner paladin/barbarian, trying to do all side quests etc and hit level 22. Game was so good I started it again six hours later... Now a level 11 Assassin/Duelist! This game is like crack.

I am also interested in finding out about the controls for this game. It is hard to find information on how the character and 'camera' are controlled in reviews. I've been playing Divinity II: Ego Draconis recently and I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of camera control - I probably wouldn't have bought the game if I'd had more detailed information.

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

WASD for movement, mouse to turn camera. Top down or third person camera modes to choose from. You can move by clicking on the ground too, but I never liked that control scheme in 3D.
Mouse for combat too and finally numkeys for potions/powers/filling rooms with swirling fire.

    Simple enough.

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Thanks for that, Chuckskull. Can the controls be re-mapped? WASD is no good for lefties like me - I need to use the 'arrow' keys (up, down, left, right) for movement as my left hand is on the mouse.

Another question for those that have played Divinity II. I am a bit disappointed with the graphics quality in Divinity II (and this on a computer on which I have played Oblivion and Fallout 3 without problems, though admittedly not at highest settings). How do the graphics compare in Dragon Age?

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Just like to add my name to the list of completes, 55 hours and all but a few sidequests done which i buggered up lol.

To answer your question Ceefer GFX quality is above oblivion and the game is heavily optimized, played flawlessy on my laptop with a 8800m gts with high settings and 1X AA at 1680X1050.

Well worth buying if you are into RPG with mulitple endings and possible combinations of characters both good and evil. For example i saved a character only for that character to try sticking a knife in my back in a back alley lol.

Voice acting is nothing short of excellent feturing both kate mulgrew and claudia black as two of the big names.

    I think so, but I can't remember.

Dragon Age has quite obviously worse graphics than Fallout 3 and Oblivion, but the animations are quite fluid and the framerate is very high even on fairly weak computers.

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Huh, i found the game looked far better then oblivion, but then i did play that on PS3 lol.

Forgot to mention if you do get the game make sure you get a version which includes the stone prisoner, shale is a excellent party member and quite comical when it comes to birds.
