Click the tiny little running man icon under your character portraits - changes to a hand stopping symbol. Or press H on the keyboard - same effect. You can then move then individually and this is essential in some fights where you don't want fighters dashing off into an inferno spell you've just cast

Rogues have several uses - disabling traps, picking locks and fading. I still reckon they'll patch in a knock spell or something though it just feels wrong the way it's done atm.

Ha! If you can figure out how to get an all guy one, then you're perfectly positioned to give Fox News a heart attack.

Does anyone else find the media's reactions to computer game sex consistently hilarious btw?

That's not intentional - the game just has a HUGE memory leak every time you change area. If you check memory consumption as you move around a bit you can see it ticking up and up. Restarting the game clears it all out.

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

I retract my earlier comment. Really getting into this now and mastered the fight scenes.

Downloaded the Soldier's Peak DLC and I'm stuck 10 minutes in. Anyone else tried this? There's a bug in the game where the door won't open, plenty of people on the internet have the same problem. I've re-dun the battle scene like 10 times from different save files and I still can't get through this ****ing door. I'm mightily pissed off and seems to be no fix in sight. Yet to have a reply from EA regarding this horrendous cock up.

Other than that I'm loving the game, great character progression, really get a sense that you go from zero to hero. More you get into the game though, how much of a rip of Lord of the Rings is the whole thing? The 2 human civilzations refusing to unite against a common cause?!

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Mucking about on Nightmare now. Messed about using the console a bit so I dont need a rogue in my party just unlock things(gave the rogue skilltree to my warrior). So now I can have my Dog. Far less annoying and more useful than leilana and zevran.

No idea on that sorry Nobull, not bought the DLC yet.

Yeah, the storyline has been done before. Trying to unite various disunited factions against a common enemy. Still a great game though

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything original about Dragon Age. The thing is though, it does everything so well it doesn't matter that it's all been done before, because the way it is done in DA is better!

    Re: Dragon Age: Origins

Anyone experienced the err "love" scenes yet? Bioware have tried to make them tasteful, all credit to them, but the one I have unlocked (Leliana) is just plain cheesy and made me laugh... a lot!

There is so many side quests! Everytime I do a load for the mages or mercs or whoever I seem to find 5 or 10 more on the boards so I've constantly got about 30 quests on the go.

For anyone doing a rogue its well worth picking up the side quest from Wade in denerim (black smith), you get some very nice light armour out of it I went from a 5 - 18 armor rating.

I agree with the points above, DA just does everything very well. Good story, simple character system and a very clean and responsive GUI... I love it.

Anyone else finding it a real battle to get hold of health potions? I've made tonnes but I still need more!

They're poor, both in terms of cheesiness and in terms of animation quality. If they couldn't do it well they should have just faded to black.

Anyone else finding it a real battle to get hold of health potions? I've made tonnes but I still need more!
It seems just about right - enough that you can get to a shop just as you're running dangerously low.

Until you get to a shop and find that they have none! I managed to top up nicely at the circle of mages just from doing the quest though lots on the bodies there. The circle is my favourite part so far because of [spoilers]When the sloth demon takes you into the fade and you have to learn and use the different shape shifting abilities to complete each section so you can get to him and destroy him[Spoliers] its just really good fun.
