Battlefield Patch wont Install!!

I have a problem....
the battlefield patch (v1.5-v1.69) wont install!!
it says the game cannot be found!

I think this is due to the fact that i have formatted the windows partition and not my games partition.. thus leaving no data of the install....

the only way i can see around this is to reinstall the game.. but doing that would get rid of my profile with everything completed.. and all the mods and road to rome and secret weapons of wwII expansions!!!
These take several hours to reinstall and i dont wish to do this!

Is there any way to tell the installer where the game has been installed to??

The reason i want to do this is to update DC which requires v1.6 and i have 1.5

looks like u will have to reinstall ,the settings etc seem to be in the Mods\bf1942\settings folder so if you save that settings folder it should save all you key binds etc and profile

there's also a settings folder in the Xpack2 folder although thats seems empty

u should probably save the save folder in the root bf1942 folder aswell

(i do not gaurantee this will work bla bla etc etc own risk )

Um, couldn't somebody with the game check their reg for this guy maybe?

Presuming it's not machine or CDkey specific, an export of somebody elses keys might sort it out.

I don't have the game so I've no help other than this idea.
