    Reccomend me a new game

Basically as title, I generally don't have too much time to play games so am a bit out of touch.
However I'm not working atm so have recently finished GTA VC, Prince of Persia and NFSU.
I am into most genre's (except FPS - never really got into them) so whats out there that any of you peeps reccomend ?

    thx.

ps. I'm currently considering going back to my former addiction, civ

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but i'm no mod anyway.

i recently went for Unreal Tournament 04, but fps' aren't your bag so i suggest Rise of Nations, which is similar to Civ but has more of an RTS feel. Google it for reviews and see what you think

Knights of the Old Republic has been recommended to me, and it looks pretty good.

I absolutely love the battles in Medieval: Total War. Nothing quite like watching your calvary charging across thousands of men, watching castle walls fall and slow troops falling to your archers. Plenty of tactics to use as well, so good if you're bored of mindless strategy games then I'd heartily recommend this one.

by a wide margin the best game i've played recently was Prince of Persia Sands of Time, so you're gonna have a hard time beating that. You don't say whether you're interested only in recent games, or whether you can go back a bit - if you're after a classic, look into Baldur's Gate 2, System Shock 2; recewnt titles worth a look include Broken Sword 3 (for fans of the series, anyway), Worms 3D

and if you can stomach an FPS, look at XIII, Tron 2.0, Unreal Tournament 2004

Broken Sword 3 & Star Wars: KOTOR are both superb games although it is a shame that the PC version is single player only, (unlike the Xbox version).

Besides that not a great deal out at the moment if you don't like FPS.

You could try FarCry, i know it has swayed a lot of people who aren't FPS fans into trying and loving it!

both of those are good bargins on great games, very open ended choices. sometimes morrowind can feel a bit like a rambling simulater but that only means that when you get action and battles, it really feels like you've worked to get there.

Age of Mythology! If you like real-time strats, you'll love AoM. Plus, I recommend the expansion - Titans. Seriuosly cool to see these giant mythical monsters walking around taller than building in gloriuos, beautiful 3D splendor. Watch as they send groups of regular units flying, or pound away at one another.

Having said that, even without Titans, the original has so much depth, creativity and innovation, plus diversity, suiting all types of play. Better than the C&C's, because too often strategy went out of the window and it came down to build a mass of units and send them in - most units wins. Not so in AoM - build your army carefully - and your navy!

I'd go with Age of Mythology. I prefer this to Age of Empires due to the setting.

Prince Of Persia Sands of Time is excellent, Mafia is just amazing all round, currently playing Mafia through again. Splinter cell Pandora Tommorow is really enjoyable game as is Hitman Contracts (Albeit Contracts has alot of rehashed levels from the first one). Knights of the Temple is pretty good if you want a Medievil Hack & Slash game (Done by the people that done Enclave so its very similar).
