Playing this in 1080P and it looks amazing, its a great game and is easier to pick up and play than the first one.

    Kalniels review is spot on

Josh, its a superb game in its own right. You can play it with a 360 pad also which works really well as it can be a bit hack n slash at times.

I am running around a forest at the minute and it looks amazing, so much detail with the plants and trees. Some of the enemy creatures climb down the tree trunks from the canopy before they attack you. Nice touches like that makes a great game for me.

Re: Kalniel's The Witcher 2 review (spoiler free)

I'm currently coming towards the end of Chapter III, and I'd recommend this game also. It has a lot more depth than many other RPGs. The way you are introduced to the backstory and 'lore' feels natural and not at all forced (looking at you DA: Origins). And there's also a good main storyline to keep you engaged. One word of warning though, the combat is pretty unforgiving - especially in the prologue / chapter 1. But after that the difficulty levels off.

Re: Kalniel's The Witcher 2 review (spoiler free)

lol... anyways not a good start im afraid. The game doesnt seem to run at all.

i tried to install it twice and after it finishes installing, i tried to launch the game from the desktop shortcut icon for the game and it wont load!

wont respond, wont do anything after clicking several times. i even tried launching the launcher.exe icon from the games install path and stil nothing.

    if it helps i am using windows 7 64bit with a 480gtx card, i7 920 cpu and 6gb ddr3 ram.

    any suggestions?

What display driver revision? Also might be worth manually downloading patches 1.1 and 1.2, manually running them then try again.

Re: Kalniel's The Witcher 2 review (spoiler free)

edit:dvd retail i have. nothing happens when i click the exe file. Also, i just tried to install latest patch and when i launch that, it said installed game version is invalid or incomplete???

When i installed it, no errors popped up saying it failed or anything?? the installed program simply just disappeared. No message saying game has been installed or of similar message. just disapears after th progress bar is finished??

i am going to try and reinstall with my anti virus off

Anything in your eventlog that ties in with a failed install? Possibly .NET framework or C++ redist? What OS?
