Call of Duty - What an excellent game!

i played this game through on the top level setting when i first got it and thought it was good but not brilliant,
i have just started a new game with it on easiest and it is so good i recommend everyone get this now and play it through, its the best war game if played im sure
i especially like the way the missions are all real things that happened during d day and staling grad
the weapons are superb and the missions in vehicles amazed me
just wanted to reward Call of Duty with a nice thread on hexus

Aye, great game. I was watching something about D-day on discovery the other day and it had a whole section on Pegasus Bridge. They had some chopper shots of it and an aerial photograph taken the day after the attack and the game is so accuratley modelled. It was such a great achievement though. Our pilots managed to land the gliders within something like 47 feet of the bridge, in the dark, whilst being shot at. Now that definatley says something about their skills

this game aint of the multiplayer sort for me at least...i admit that bf1942 is alot better for multiplayer

although what wouold be cool would be co-op CoD
WHY DONT THEY MAKE CO-OPS NO MORE!

The designers knew it, that it would be one of the last (good) directx8 FPS'. I remember reading a preview for it, "Atleast we will have fond memories of directx 8, instead of memories of countless Medal Of Honour sequels we will remember Call Of Duty, the last of its kind. Latest and greatest" I totally agree. Good game an all, but it was only really a stop gap for many people for Far Cry, as Far Cry will be once Half Life 2 comes out. Quite sad really how such good games become so quickly eclipsed and almost forgotten by new technology. Call Of Duty will leave good memories with me forever.

its just a patched upgrade for MOH no deployable MG's limited weapons and the grafix just are not good, look at red orchestra much better far better grafix and much more playable. The single player is cool but multi is terrible.

yea i prefer RO too myself, it feels like the multiplayer that should have been bundled with COD (give or take speedhack bugs)

They are releasing an expansion pack for Call Of Duty somepoint this year so everyone that loved it (Myself included) will be able to play additional missions on it. I'll dig the link out for the expansion pack shortly.

Yeah, I heard about that Expansion pack. Called United Offensives or something isnt it? Looks good. The Singleplayer seems to be the best part of the game at the moment. A load of my mates keep on going on about the CoD mulitplayer as "amazing...better than anything else!" and all this but i kinda disagree. Not the sharpest mulitplayer out there at the moment.

From the link, it looks as though they're trying to turn it into BF1942 (with a more polished engine though).

I've got to admit - I still love and often play COD multiplayer - but only S&D or retrival - the other modes are just dull.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
