I can live with that w00t.

I had to pay bloody £30 for my copy today.cheapest I could find it in Newcastle. Most other places were £34.99.I've played it for just over an hour and tbh it's better than I was expecting. It is bloody dark tho.Th is sort of adds to the tension.I'll wait till it's dark and have a few more hours play. Its playing really well at 1280x1024 on ultra high levels on my x800 pro.Graphics are very good.I wish the beam off the flashlight was a bit bigger.I cashed in Battlefield Vietnam (£11) Battlefield 1942 (£8) and Road to Rome (£4) to help pay towards it.so far I'm not disapointed with the deal.I might change my mind tho after I've played this for a few more hours.

Got my copy yesterday, dam this game is scary but too dark in my opinion! Can't see what I'm shooting so I've installed a mod that puts a flashlight on every gun, does wonders for game and I'm enjoying it more now.

Loads of people, especially those who have had more time in the US to play it, have been complaining about the whole flashlight thing. I suppose you would expect a marine to be able to shoot one handed, but I seem to think that it adds to the gameplay.

A certain amount of skill (not saying you dont tho!!!) is needed to be able to juggle the light and still manage to get shots off. I kinda like it as it rushes you a bit when in battle. I also thought it was waaay too dark at first but after messing with the console gamma & brightness commands, got a decent compromise!

Still only at the start, but its getting good. Maybe some people expected it to be too groundbreaking???

Okay, so my playing time has been a little bit interrupted, but I have to say that I'm loving this game...

So it's all 'kill everything that moves', but that's fine. It's a FPS, what do you expect, cookery classes?

I haven't really had time to get bored, and I'm pretty sure that playing in such small and varied installments is going to keep it pretty much at bay.

Yes, it's dark, but I have to say that I appreciate it all the more every time I have to enter one of those rooms and wonder to myself whether I'm going to regret not having some firepower to hand. Certainly elevated my heart rate a few times, so I'm glad I didn't go for the flashlight mod...think it would spoil it (although I might change my mind should I get fed up with the lack of illumination).

Everyone come out for the URL hints? I got the www.martianbuddy.com one (oh, thanks for that id...saved my ass a couple of times) but I couldn't see the relevance of the www.UA-Corp.com, anyone figure it out?

And just wondering, anyone else finding it fairly easy? My marine seems fairly robust, and I'm only up to the 'find the personel elevator that leads up to Alpha Level 2' just after the guy hanging from the ceiling with the two headed things and I haven't died yet...is this the case with everyone else?

    Game on...

I think many enjoyed it at the beginning, but they changed their mind by the time they finished it. Lets see what you will say then.
