oh no no no, they've kinda done some nasty stuff to it - it feels much more like an arcade racer, in style not just because its in semi pro. For instance there are corner direction graphics (colin mcrae type ones) i cant really tell about the physics as i have a keyboard only as input here and the graphics are poor on my geforce 2 mx.

I will try it when i get home, initial thoughts are i like the press demo better - except that there is AI players.

IIRC the corner thingies can be turned off.

Apparently you can edit the Player.PLR file in the installation directory to turn all the aids off, and then its 90% simulation mode, bar some small physics changes

cool - i didnt really have a look around, i wonder if you could copy the tyre physics file from the press demo, to get the last 10%

Not figured out how to turn that corner indicator off yet, but most of it is ok, running along the f keys to turn all the auto control rubbish off is best place to start.

    So far I love it.

Turning the abs off actually does something this time

Wheelspin control is now called traction control (quite reasonably).

Seems to run well with 19 cars on the track. No real slow down at all. I was expecting it to be more of a hit on the FPS.

I need to practise more though, am still absolutely rubbish at it - I can just stay ahead of the morgans in the lister

yeah i found it - i really dont like the semi pro handling, much prefered the simulation, i hope its not just different compared the press demo due to the new physics engine.

also my sorry old steering wheel's force feedback doesnt work well with it, it forgets to turn effects off. so i have a left pull all the way down the straight after eu rouge. very annoying.

It looks to me like the the publishers liked the look of the press demo and thought ooo this would sell but we need to make it more main stream, just my opinion. hence the delay while they take out some of the cool physics.

A few ppl are saying that a major bug was found or something. Might be net code related, who knows.

Id prefer to wait and get it polished than all buggy n naff - lets just wait and see.
