    Thumbs down S.T.A.L.K.E.R slips again

It seems that STALKER has gone MIA again, cant say im surprised.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl will not hit its previously planned May release date. According to GSC's Oleg Yavorksy, GSC stated, "We're happy THQ has afforded us more time to work on this. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a huge, genre-defining game and we're going to make sure we release the game when it's reached our own very high standards, and those expected by our fans, and not before."

    Good.

This way we won't have an unfinished product on the shelves.

No doubt the same people who complain about the time taken to release the game will complain equally as much, or more, if the game is unfinished and is buggy as hell.

What do you think of "Stalker" graphics?

    http://www.stalker-game.com/index_eng.html

    Yet another movie with zombies?

    \

Graphics don't look that special, but it's been said that it will have the old school nor-linear gameplay like unreal1, hexen, etc...

    The story might be interesting.
    I like this pic...

Judging by the Hind helicopter, the game takes place in Russia...

    And the recked Lada!

Don't judge and you won't be judged yourself

The fact that the game is called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl is a bit of a giveaway. With Chernobyl being in Ukraine and all.

Although i am not too convinced with monsters or people in it yet i am hoping that would change when i start playing. I was very anti-flashpoint on the account of people looking silly when they run in it, until i played it and saw just how awesome it is. Graphics wise in stalker - there does seem to be a lot of nice touches. But it goes beyond graphics.

As for your comment "the old school nor-linear gameplay like unreal1, hexen, etc..." if i understand it correctly then it makes no sense. As i remember unreal it was mighty linear.

Anyway, I am hoping it will be good when it comes out. Its especially exciting for me coz i used to live 80 miles from where the action takes place Nice to see familiar landscapes and objects in a game

    lmfao @ retroborg quote!

I'd welcome gameplay over graphics any day of the week; sick of titles relying on eye candy to mask their incredible lack of longevity, (re)playability, and story. Its not just within the gaming industry either; if you place your focus on movies, how many high-budget ****e films have you watched in the lack few years, as opposed to low budget things like Shawshank redemption - which still today meet (my) expectations, time and time again.

Eitherway im glad that time has been afforded to produce a game which won'y need 25 patches before its remotely playable. As for graphics, i wasn't impressed by a single sshot of HL2, but turn the lights down and prepare to be immersed.
