    PSP: first impressions!

    "Wow, it's soooo long!"

Don't worry, I'm on about a PSP. But yeah, no way in hell could you get this comfortably in your pocket. The good thing though is that nearly all of it is screen. However, you'd be a madman to carry it without a case, bumping the size up even more. I had a quick go on Metal Gear: Acid, but it was terribly uninspiring. I have to say, it was very smart, but simply too big, it really does push the word portable to the edge.

The DS has so much more going for it: pictochat, 2 screens, extremely low price, strong launch title selection.

Norky's prediction for the year: PSP will fail. Too expensive, too few quality games, too big, arse battery life.

That's what I have thought all along. Like I said in the other thread, be smart and get a DS.

Yeah, one my mates has one, quite cool but it's wider and thicker than the PSP (looks to be from the photos I have seen of the PSP anyway), not exactly pocket-sized.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Who cares about their size? What I care about is the games, and right now what the DS has upcoming looks better than the PSP has and ever will have.

Indeed, started reading, then caught on

Besides, I have to *again* bring up the fact that sony never said this thing was pocketable. They only ever called it portable, hence 'Play Station Portable' not pocketable

But thats also proven wrong by the fact that Sony's main presentation at E3 was carried out by someone who had a PSP in his trouser pocket the WHOLE way through it and only pulled it out at the end to everyone's surprise. No one had a clue that he had it there.
