Was interested in buying Silent Hill 4...

So I downloaded the demo, seems a good game, wants me to keep playing... BUT it's bloody scary - everytime I see an enemy I get a shiver

Not even Doom 3 scared me this much! I bet I sound like a little girl..

I'm going to give this ago. Never really been into these type of games. I think it was the early Resident Evil games that put me off. I completed Condemned and really liked that, so this seems like a good one to follow. Also might be a good introduction to the new film which looks pretty panty wettingly scary

completed all 4 of the series.. umm.. lets just say, the game's ERSB rating should be rated based on wits rather than age..

Silent Hill 4... the ironic thing is that, the room number is where my in-laws lives in York... *shudders*... And the demo is nothing, try the whole game and you'll get to see how trusted KONAMI can get..

Silent 2 and 4 was the best of the bunch, Silent Hill 3.. not too bad, but the dialogue is abit of a hit-n-miss.. Silent Hill 2 has the most original scares to date.. nothing beats a faceless nurse that walks like a manequin..

EDIT: The graphics AA (2048x2048) cranked up will probably cripple most graphics card.. pretty awsome graphics really.. the noise thingy that makes the screen look like an old movie makes it even more authentic..

ehehe.. yea, I was playing it with my mate when I was doing my postgrad in Melbourne.. When the toilet door opened my mate just ran straight out the door screaming.. lol

No one will ever forget about the pyramid head.. ohhh the pyramid head..

EDIT: I'm telling u guys.. the demo is just at best 10% of the scares.. The Silent Hill series on PC should go pretty cheap now.. picking them up in my opinion is a must.. (I have SH2,3 and 4 on PC and I havent finished 1/2 of the available endings)

I have to say that SH4 is the best SH game I've played. Pity that most reviews slated it.

4 is an AWFUL, AWFUL game. i still haven't bothered to finish it, it's just not worth the effort.

It's drenched heavily in cliches, staid & emotionless acting, seemingly pointless non-sequiturs, frustrating controls & dynamics which haven't been updated since 1992, and player-punishing ****e like the "want to save? hope you brought a hard-to-find candle else you get the worst ending" crap you get halfway through the game. the levels? oh look, it's the subway *AGAIN*, bet that saved on developer time. "water prison", what the hell?

this is a parody of everything that roots the survival horror genre in the early 1990s, a slight graphical tweak on AITD, yet considerably more frustrating and nonsensical to play.

if you want a GOOD example of AITD-type survivial horror, try Project Zero 2 or Resident Evil Code Veronica - or Silent Hill 2. if you want something which has made any progress in game design since Frederick Raynal's first efforts in 3d, then get Resident Evil 4.

"SH4: omg teh roomz0r" doesn't deserve your memory card space.
