    Crysis Mod's

There has been plenty of discussion about Crysis recently, but not many know that there are several mod's for the game being made right now.

Crytek have provided them with a pre-SDK to work with and are also helping with some graphic work...they look very promising so far.

There are a couple of interviews here with pretty much all the details of each mod

Welcome to the forum, I had a read and there is not a huge amount of detail but I think its great that Crytek are supporting mod developers even at this early stage.

I've been pretty impressed with Crytek in general. They seem to be pretty quick to implement new technologies; it's nice to see they have such a mod-friendly outlook too.

    Hi Guys,
Wow you make it hard to do an info post, but if it stops random spam, that can only be a good thing!

Thread Necrophilia here, hope you dont mind, but I noticed the comment by G4Z that he wanted more detail?

Im with the Obsidian Edge 2 mod team mentioned in the first link in the thread.
We have given away a fair bit in interviews, but as these were early in the mods life cycle, they are still subject to change

    Evogaming Interview
    Crysis Online Interview
    CrysisNews.de Interview

Also Check out the news page on our website:
    October and December News Releases

We should be making another news release before the end of the month!

Interesting, and exciting. Allowing modders to get cracking on stuff at this early stage is certainly a very wise move - the mod community really make the Doom / Quake games far more popular!

(My fav. mods in the past: Nighthunters - Quake II, Quake 3 Fortress - Quake 3)

This is fantastic news - think crytek realise that mods can sometimes add to the longevity of a game; although by the looks of Crysis I don't think it needs any help.

    Look forward to these mods.

    Hi Josh,
Yeah there are still some great looking mods being developed for FC, PlatinumGolds Delta Sector for instance, and there will be a final release of eXcaliTrone...

You can get up to speed on what the latest Far Cry mods news is over at www.crymod.com as well as MODDB...

BTW I fixed the link above so that you dont have to register; we seem to be having a CMS glitch there...

    Re: Crysis Mod's

Wow is it that long since I visited this site?

Since there is much excitment about the Crysis MP beta, I thought I would drop by and let you know what we have been up to at OE2.

You may have missed out on two updates, May, showcasing the first CryEngine2 shots from anyone other than Crytek, that actually earned us a news post on the C&VG site and last week we released our Summer Media release, which has a 46MB download of images...

    Hope you like it!

    Re: Crysis Mod's

Yeh i think they learnt their lession on farcry with the multiplayer already boring, that releasing the SDK so long after game release was the worst decision or mistakes they made. I was working on a farcry mod at the time and we had lots of content already done like textures, models, sounds awaiting to implemented. But after so long waiting for the SDK our team fell apart and we disbanded along with alot of the other mod teams..

Hopfully the same wont be for crysis.
