Gears of War - Cant get any online games :(

I had this a lot before the patches (my gold subscription is expired atm). I was playing the game through for a second time in co-op with a friend, and one day we just couldn't connect any longer. VERY frustrating. Once in a blue moon it would work, the rest would be 'unable to connect' etc. Since it's the only game i'm interested in playing on xbox live I won't be renewing my subscription for a fair while!

Haven't had any problems so far, but then I haven't played it since Jan 1st (borrowed Lego Star Wars II from a mate so I've been trrying to get as many achievements as pos before I give it back )

I connect up through a D-Link wired router with no issues (except for my rubbish connection, but that didn't seem to be a problem for Gears, as it played smooth as anything).

Well, put the 48hr code in out of Viva Pinata. Tried repeatedly to play Gears of War online, every single time it failed .

Gave up and played the Lost Planet MP demo, but damn, how frustrating!

Ive not been able to get on any games of GOW since that one time, Im going to give microsoft a ring if I can find the number and see if they will give me a month free, or failing that, a copy of vista ultimate will have to do.

I tried setting a ranked game up last night, 1 person joined in after 10 minutes of waiting, hung around for half a minute before disappearing and that was the only person I saw in over half an hour (and you need at least 6 players before you can start a ranked match).
Attempted to join a ranked match after that and no luck connecting.
Completed Insane Co-op online on Friday night with one of my mates (I've now got all SP achievements) without any problems ...

For anyone having connection problems in GOW, there is an update available today, I think the update is for the 360 in general, rather than just GOW, but it seems to have worked.

Unfortunately, the woman wouldnt give me a copy of vista ultimate, but she did tell me to have a nice day.

I've been playing GOW since the week it launched and haven't had any problems online. I use the custom match optiion when choosing ranked matches and I just join a friend's session in progress when using the player matches. I don't know about u guys but GOW is the one game that everyone of my friends has, and its the first game that's got us all playing 2gether almost daily. Call Microsoft support ASAp - U missing out bigtime

Didn't make a damn bit of difference for me. I did make it into one game, I think by sheer fluke, but it took a ridiculous amount of attempts before I got into one! Needless to say I stuck with that game for a fair while .

Microsoft's words were "Yes, we are experiencing difficulties with only this one game, it will be resolved in a couple of days, there is now an update, please download the update"

I downloaded the update and I managed to connect right away, I didnt have chance to try it yesterday, but Ill give it a go this afternoon and see what happens

Slightly off topic, I have exacty the same problems with PGR3. I can host a game, I can join a game that a friend invites me too, but other than that, i can't connect to any other game! It's really annoying! Happened on my old xbox with PGR2 as well. Maybe i'm just jinxed when it comes to live PGR

While trying to find out the answers to my PGR woes, I found this handy little guode, which seems to fix most problems with connectivity.

Give it a try, and maybe i'll be able to play some of you now on PGR3 live
