8/10 is alright. A patch could probably sort quite a few problems out for the game.

nope, ones I had bought based on review and didnt hugely like but got good reviews, and of those I played I liked the demos

I have read the review....STALKER doesn't really apply to me as a game to buy

im interested in what the multiplayer is goin to be like, probadly goin to part exchange arma for it only played that for an 1 hour and most of that was looking for a server with ppl on it

Having seen the leaked copy of stalker being played I've seen that its very hard hitting on graphics. The instances I have seen involved the lighting set to static and graphics on medium to get it running nicely on older hardware. It seems the lighting is very heavily cpu based. A friend was playing it on a 8800GTS 320MB with a P4 3.2 GHZ powering things with everything on maximum and until the lighting was set to static it was unplayable. Vista could be the cause of this however...

I don't think multiplayer is the reason to buy stalker - its strength is going to be in the single player experience, even if the MP is ok.

Not good to hear as I am running on an older P4 3.2Ghz. 1gig mem and a 7800GS
