Not entirely sure I agree with it though, buses have to be a part of any major cities transport plan...

the busses here have 1/2 the space reserved for prams (and the disabled i suppose but its always filled with prams they cant get on...), and worse still, the "passenger" area is arranged with seats facing each other..

yay for not having used a bus regually in almost a year!

its so much nicer having your own private space to sit in whilst journeying to work.

lol buses in newcastle arent too bad, bit of a PITA that the one I have to get to and from work (and I finish at 9...when the shopping centre closes) there isnt another for half an hour after and its always jam packed with people

and it is a shuttle service too which I have to pay over the odds (compared to a bus home it costs about the same and gets me roughly 1/10 of the distance!)

at least its new and fairly clean though

I use the metro in newcastle, to be honest it isnt that bad as public transport (use it to get to the letting agents etc) ....its in shops where it seems to be worse in newcastle for people reeking
