As a Somerfield shopper I always celebrate the birth, no...rebirth....no.....resurrection of Jesus!
I was just talking about this today....do people wish people 'Happy Easter'? Isn't it a bit sick celebrating the rather gruesome crucifiction and subsequent demise of the Son of God? I know it's got something to do with the resurrection bit, but I think humans in general learn more from the bit about being responsible for killing of the son of a deity....
And don't get people in here started on pagan references. They'll have your bloody ear off...

For Christians it is a happy time! Remeber that Easter sunday is the day when our favourite protagonist (Jesus) was supposedly ressurected from the dead - so its a celebration
Hence why it is traditional to say "Happy Easter" on Easter Sunday. At least it is in our family, the majority of whom are Christian (not me any more..but thats another story).
How can you crucify an egg? I suppose you could crucifry it.
Easter was named after the ( pagan oops ) Goddess Eostre, who represents new life in spring, hence the egg that symbolizes new life....Jesus had nothing to do with it!
[=tongue in cheek]Trust christianity to muscle in with some bullpoop about someone rising from the dead[/tongue in cheek]
